How DigiConform compares to a Lokbox:

  • no special video transfers are required
  • time code tracks are not required, burn-in window are strongly recommended
  • DigiConform does not need and does not read Time Code
  • works with any video tape format, including VHS
  • as quiet as your home computer
  • locks rigidly to the sync block
  • no 'horizontal picture disturbances' in between video frames
  • always shows one frame or another
  • no wear and tear on video tapes and video decks, maintenance-free
  • no lag times and no ballistics: the video picture is always fully caught up with the film, even if DigiConform is temporarily minimized
  • brightness and contrast of the video image can be dramatically enhanced upon input
  • video-to-film lock can be temporarily dis-engaged, fool-proof re-locking
  • A Lokbox displays 60 fields of video per second, DigiConform shows 24 film frames per second, if the show has been cut at 24 fps in the Avid. Please see the 24 fps vs. 30 fps page for more information about 24 fps film on 30 fps video tapes.
